At least we no longer have to worry about being picked off by the Bane. I should probably start from the beginning.
The Bane started stepping up their attacks on all of our bases. We knew something big was about to happen, but we had no idea what. Then, the call came in from HQ. The higher ups had discovered that the Bane now considered their occupation of Earth complete and that their central command was located there. At that point it almost seemed like there was no reason to keep fighting.
After a few days, word came down from General British. The AFS was recruiting every able body soilder for a full assault on Earth. That's right, you guessed it. DoF was one of the first to sign on. It was time to get our planet back or die trying.
On the day of the assault, we landed in a wormhole in Madison Square Gardens, New York. I always wanted to visit New York, you know see the sights. I just didn't think it would be a war zone when I showed up.
I don't think I've ever seen so many AFS in one spot before, or as many Bane Soilders. Seemed like for every one we took down ten more would pop up. The fighting lasted for hours. Then the bad news came in. Our bases on Foreas and Arieki were falling one by one.
I wish I could say we fought the good fight. I wish I could say that I was back in my house, sleeping in my bed. I wish I knew just how that day ended.
All I do know, is that there were no Dominion of Fire or any other Allied Free Sentients soilder to walk out of New York alive that day.
